August Special Souvenirs

Did you get all your MISSION GC souvenirs???

For the past few years Geocaching.com has had special souvenirs available each August.  This year was the Mission GC souvenirs.

The first souvenir available was for finding a geocache (of any type) 

with 10 or more favorite points during the weekend of July 30 & 31.

We earned ours finding a Geocache called "EVIL" - GC190EK.

Souvenir #1

The second souvenir available was for finding a multi-cache  

during the weekend of August 13 & 14.

We earned ours by finding "Confederate Cemetery at Jonesville, Va." - GC2EBY8.

The third souvenir available was for finding a mystery cache  

during the weekend of August 27 & 28.

We earned ours by finding 23 Mystery/Puzzle caches on the

 west side of Richmond, Va.  {even though we really only 

needed to find one}.

Then once you had all three of those - magically - you were
(or at least we were) awarded a fourth!!!

WOW!!!

MEGA Event News !!!

We are now less than 2 weeks away from the 14th Annual GCHR Picnic

This is our MEGA (for us nice folks in the Hampton Roads area)!!!

There has been a major change for the Friday Night Event - you know, the one where you can pick up all your stuff and then hang around and talk with people - - and then go out to dinner with friends!!!

The location of the event has been changed - the event page (GC6NACQ) - has been updated with the new location including updating the GPS coordinates at the top of the page.

So far this summer, if you were in the right place and found the right thing at the right time - you have, in your statistics, two really nice new shiny souvenirs.  It is all part of GC.com's Mission GC.  

Part 1: This souvenir was awarded for finding a cache with 10 or more favorite points on the weekend of July 30/31.

Part 2: This souvenir was awarded for finding a multi-cache on the weekend of August 13/14.

So, part 3 of this entertaining series will be this weekend (August 27/28).

Hopefully, you have either already received the coded message containing the clue to this weekend's mission, or, someone has told you how to go about earning it.

Last Weekend your Mission Was.... and other news

So last weekend, if you had the inside scoop, and if you accepted the mission, you found a Multi-cache and received your new souvenir.

A couple of weeks ago, the mission was to find a cache with 10 or more favorite points.  If you did, you received this souvenir.

Starting this Friday, August 19 premium members will start receiving their next coded message.  Once solved, they will know what the next souvenir to be awarded will be and what they must do to qualify for that souvenir.  Stay tuned - more information to follow.
