Georgia Trip

Nana & I recently returned from a week long trip to Georgia.

Although, technically, the purpose of the trip was to tour the towns
and sets of The Walking Dead television show,
we did manage to claim a cache or two or three......

On the way down we stopped in the Raleigh area to fill in a block on our
"Finds by Placed Month" Chart - April 2001!

The cache was a simple find after walking 0.6 miles from our nearest "legal"
parking spot.  The walk was a very nice walk in the woods which made the find even better.

The Cache:
GC7CB: Boo Boo...we're not in Jellystone anymore!

We did manage to set aside almost an entire day for geocaching!
We made the most of that day grabbing some other "OLD" caches and filling in the
remaining empty months on the same chart.

We made contact with Captain Steve, a local who takes geocachers out to Lake Lanier
caches.  We met up with him at the appointed time and proceeded to
make finds on a July 2000 cache!

The boat ride out to the island for GC20: Marooned was a  very cold one -
about 43 degrees.  After finding the two caches on the island the trip back to shore
was no where as cold!!!

Chilly ride out to the island
After returning to shore we made our way over to
GC21: Lake Lanier - another lovely walk and quick find!

By the end of the trip, we had added 10 finds to our total and completely filled in our
"Finds by Placed Month" Chart which now qualifies us for any
and all Jasmer Challenge caches!!!

COMPLETE!!!
The trip was a complete success!!!
--------

We are still looking for some help - please!

Nana & I are planning on attending GeoWoodstock this year in Cincinnati

After attending the GIGA event, we plan on a geo-trip similar
to what we did after GeoWoodstock XIII - gathering up
cache with a ton of favorite points, older caches, etc.

This time though - instead of traveling through New England
we plan on traveling through the following states (or at least trying to)
before heading back to Virginia.

Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas,
Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana & Mississippi

If you know of a "Must-Do" cache in those states
send us the GC Code and your recommendation
and we will try to add it to our list!

That is all for now

Till next time...
Stay Safe & Keep Caching!!!
